Now the home of Nancy C. Wisner and Frederick A. Simon. Moving from New Jersey and married in Pittsfield in 2002 . The farm dates back to 1850. It was one of the first dairy farms here on Lower Michigan Road.
Early owners were Orville Fifield, F. Daley (1853) E. Segar (1869) Cerro's (1976) In the Pittsfield history book "Glimpse of the Past Pittsfield Vermont" printed in 1976 There are three photo's of the farm.
Some of the earliest settlers were located on this road, where Captain Charles Goodrich (1720-1816) from Pittsfield, Massachusetts built the first mills in 1792, and named the settlement after his home town.
In the early days of this area there was a settlement higher up the mountain. The access roads, above and below the West Branch of the Tweed River , were named for their destination "Michigan" . There are few signs of this cluster of dwellings remaining.
The central portion of our barn was built in the 1930's and was expanded to 8,000 sq. ft. by the previous owners and became widely known as "Cerro's Furniture Barn" Established in June 1956 and closed after 30 years in November, 1986.
Today, it houses greenhouses where gourmet Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms are grown, a work shop, an antique and collectable section, Our Quail hatching incubator 5 Brooder pens and 5 Grow off pens , our private storage, three horse stalls, a sheep shelter a goat shelter, and more.
You will find a 3,600 sq. ft. Vegetable Garden, fruit trees, electric fences, a chicken house and pen, a turkey house and pen, and a 100 year old second chicken house (disassembled and moved here in pieces from a half mile down the road).
At this time we have animals such as a Lippitt Morgan Gelding, "Beldon", a rescued PMU Paint/Clydesdale cross Gelding, "Cochese". Registered Shetland sheep. Dwarf Nigerian goats,Various breeds of layer hens and roosters, turkeys, guinea fowl, Hundreds of Quail, a North West Farm Terrior "Sarah" eight Japanese Koi in a 3,000 gallon 6 foot deep pond, surrounded by a beautiful perennial garden.
We raise turkeys and chickens for our and our neighbors freezers, provide beautiful Ameraucana blue, green, eggs, light brown eggs from White Rocks ,Black-Copper Mauran Mahogany colored eggs and Dominique brown eggs, for sale to the public.

The furtherest from your view is the River, The house is closer to the river next, Lower Michigan Road, The 8,000 square foot barn is visable behind the house. The pasture on the right belongs to our neighbor and they let us use it for our horses. Beldon and Cochise. Behind the barn, closest to your view, is Hedge Hog Knoll a 2,825 foot mountain. Behind that is the Green Mountain National Forest.
